  1. They are separated... unless you mean what if they weren't. But conceptually developers will be users that have made games once we figure out how to, in some kind of somewhat automated fashion, link developers to users.

  2. I sort of get what you're getting at, but I don't understand what exactly you're proposing to solve this. Origins? Maybe rating distribution?

  3. Cause we don't have much data on Developers... so if we do go in that direction, we'll have more content to fill out. Hopefully we'll have something for user submitted data or even better... register Developers with user accounts so they edit their own info.

  4. really? what minimum would you keep it at? do you really need it on pages other than the top list? what if we showed the the rating count next to the rating in the listings?

  5. there are plenty of places you can upload these kinds of files. if you have indie games you want to share, put them online and submit the game with a url to the download.

we're planning on something else to fix broken downloads.

  6. ok, somebody pointed out that it DOES work in autocomplete, but NOT in the actual search results if you hit enter without selecting one of the autocomplete suggestions. i' fixing this.

  7. I say if you misvote, you play the game and adjust your vote. ; )

  8. When I type "shooter" I get both.

  9. I've decided if you can edit your post (which is now planned), you shouldn't need to preview it.

  10. I've decided if you've played the game (which is a prerequisite for reviewing) you should be able to rate it.

  11. i'm not sold on the usefulness of this feature entirely. The download counter would only reflect downloads from tigdb, which will be heavily biased (most likely) by the Top list or other tigdb specific constraints. I'm willing to try it, but it's not a priority unless further convinced.

  12. this is one's for derek

  13. Can you be more clear about what you want? You can browse games by developer in that you can filter to games by a developer.

  14. I can understand this scenario, but I don't see it being a very common situation for many people.

  15. I agree the pros of editing your post outnumber the cons, but that's not the question. I'm trying to determine the most ideal scenario in the least amount of work. ; )

I'm still leaning towards edit without preview in a limited time window.

  16. If that were the case (which I wouldn't mind) then I'd skip the preview step proposed. (Posting becomes previewing)

    Anybody else have input?

  17. This one is for Derek...

  18. Well let me try to clarify what you really want: do you want to make sure there are no mistakes or do you want the freedom to completely change the post? What about letting you preview your review and letting you edit it as many times before actually posting? Because we have review voting, we don't want to let you edit your review after it has a high ranking. Feel free to debate this point.

  19. Right now you can only have one company/person listed as a game's Developer. However there are plenty of cases, as Derek points out such as the competition, when there are collaborations without a new studio. So it would be nice to list each developer involved or their respective studio on games that were collaborative efforts.

  20. It was originally this way but for technical reasons I made the review freeze your rating at the time. Then I realized, it wouldn't make much sense to make a review with one rating and then let you change the rating but keep the same review? I think it makes sense the rating used for a review is the rating you gave it at the time of the review. Thoughts?
